As a practicing architect, architecture has taught me to notice how light enters a room, how to frame a view with a window, and how a person experiences a space as they move through it. And all of these principles now shape my art practice.

I grew up in Chennai, drawing and making things from childhood, and today I live and work in Chicago. My paintings keep returning to thresholds: a verandah between house and street, a figure seen through glass, a reflection that holds two places at once. I am drawn to moments of stillness, when the light is doing most of the work and nothing needs to happen.
